KTC

About

One practice, four disciplines.

How KTC started

Kulkarni Technical Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (KTC) began with fire. Its founders spent years on the fire & life safety side of the industry — designing active and passive protection, executing systems on site, witnessing tests, and carrying projects through fire NOCs and statutory sign-off. That work is unforgiving: a life safety system either performs on the day it is needed or it does not, and the paperwork has to hold up in front of an authority. It taught the practice to think in terms of how a building actually gets built, inspected, and occupied — not just how it looks on a drawing.

Working that closely with fire made the next steps obvious. Smoke control and stairwell pressurisation are only as good as the HVAC design behind them, so the practice moved into MEP engineering — mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordinated as one system rather than three that meet for the first time on site. The same projects kept raising questions about energy, water, and materials, and KTC brought green building and sustainability advisory in-house, led by IGBC-accredited faculty, so certification strategy is folded into design instead of bolted on at the end.

Building compliance ties the four together. Every discipline eventually answers to a code — NBC, UDCPR/DCPR, and the statutory approvals a project depends on — and KTC had already been doing that liaison work on the fire side for years. Today the four disciplines carry equal weight, but they share one origin: a habit, learned from life safety work, of designing for the moment a building has to prove itself.
